The Way - Vesica Piscis, Early Geometry

The early christians became known as the followers of the Way (Acts 24:14). They used a secret symbol of a fish, which in Greek is ΙΧΘΥΣ (ichthys), The letters are the initial letters of the Greek words for Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior.

The simple geometry of interlocking circles of the each with a centre on the opposite's circumference can be seen in the fish symbol for the Way. ‘Vesica Piscis’ as it is known gained significance from St. Augustine’s time. Vesica Piscis actually means ‘bladder of a fish'. 

It is like the meeting of the 2 spheres of heaven and earth helpfully illustrated by the Bible Project[1]. As such it is geometric construct to symbolize the Way of Salvation laid out that we might escape sin and death, and also the merging of heaven and earth.

To simplify the description of shapes on this page, when I refer to 'Vesica Piscis' I am including the geometry of these two circles and the other mathematical properties that it exhibits.

We can use Pythagoras Theorem today to see that from this shape we can measure the roots of 1,2,3 and 5. But the ancients would be more interested in the proportions of the shape that gave it's aesthetic quality in nature and architecture. And this is where we see the special number 153 coming to the fore - representing the distance between heaven and earth (the distance between the two centres). The number 17 is also seen to have some significance in its relation to 153.

The ancients would have used something like the geometry of these 2 circles to construct the 3 famous pyramids at Giza, as we will see later.

Previously we've been able to place the pyramid building in relation to the Flood in our newly aligned biblical chronology and the cubit is a common early measurement employed in first the building of the ark and then in the pyramids. Today we can marvel at the pyramids' display of beautiful geometry (meaning measure of earth) that we also find in nature. It is tempting to spend many hours getting lost in the amazing geometric features of the pyramid and admire the wisdom of the builders. So it is more intriguing to find the number 153 at the core of the Great Pyramid (whether intentionally or unintentionally). We will come to what this number signifies later.

The bible tells us that after the Flood the first cities were built in Mesopotamia and the nations spread out over the earth (Genesis 10), presumably they carried with them the knowledge to build great monuments. Egypt, was one such civilisation that loved to build. But, Egypt the bible shows, became the victim of its own success; showing the dangers of misusing knowledge which we can trace back to the the original sin - when Adam and Eve did not listened to God and consumed from fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Later generations would venerate these objects. The destruction of the Tower of Babel testifies against those trying to reach heaven to make a name for themselves (Genesis 11). They even worshiped  'gods' in the form of animals and other elements of nature - the created rather than the Creator. In the account in Exodus knowledge got occult status and was used in sorcery when the magicians turned their staffs into snakes as well as performing other acts (Exodus 7). The story of the Ten Plagues of Egypt was God using his creation to bring down the god's formed from the elements of nature. [10]

 

Metaphorically, the bible uses Egypt as a place of sin to come out of.

Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.

Exodus 6:6

Geometric shapes and the numbers associated with the pyramid can become the basis of a codes and formulas obsession that, rather than leading us to God, they act to distract us from finding God - Numerology, Kabbalah etc. Yet the bible clearly uses numbers with significance and so we need to be mature how we view them. Numbers, geometry and pattern should only serve to bear witness to the salvation that there is in Jesus Christ. Everything in creation points to Jesus and what is man-made should also do the same (but doesn't always).

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Romans 1:20

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

1 Colossians 1:15-17

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

This is the only message we should be concerned about. Nothing should add to the Gospel Message. With these guidelines​ in place lets continue.

The proportions of the Vesica Piscis can be used to construct two of the pyramids of Giza using it's 2x3 dimensions by the unfurling seen the Fibonacci sequence. The sunflower is a good illustration of the Fibonacci sequence in nature.

The Great Pyramid and the numbers 153 and 777.

The assertion that the circle that can be constructed around the Pyramid is 777 ft in circumference or the height of the pyramid 153 ft times pi where 153 ft is also the length of the Grand Gallery may come across as if trying to find numbers to fit, yet we must concede that these are interesting features.

 

In the Queen's chamber we see a persuasive correlation with practical use, its simple construction is based on Vesica Piscis that gives an inclination to see the cubit in an astonishingly direct relationship with the metre through pi. We shouldn't be surprised that the metre is included in the pyramid built as a 'House of Nature' (i.e. built on principles found in nature) because the the metre is one of the SI units by which physicists measure the universe (other SI units are Kilogram, Second, Kelvin, Ampere, Candela, Mole, some of which are to be redefined on 20th May 2019 to be even more reliable).[6]

We know that the Egyptians subdivided the cubit in 7 palms and then each palm subdivided into 4 fingers - these are divisions that relate to Egyptian lunar calendar with 12 cubits measuring the circumference of a circle. Every few years they would need to add a 13 month (named Thoth) to keep the calendar synchronized. [7] Indeed, some attributed the design of the Giza Pyramids to a figure called Thoth.[8]

The Great Pyramid is a wonder that draws from the observation of the natural world as seen in its aesthetic proportions. The pyramids may have once been called 'House of Nature', there are other references to 'House of Ascension' probably because of its passages that can lead up the Grand Gallery. At some point in time they may even have been known by the name 'Fire in the middle' from the Greek Pyramidos.

There is no doubt that the pyramids are shrouded in mystery - the danger is that this becomes an a lure, enticing us with the promise of secret knowledge, enlightenment and magic. A place of slavery, like the Israelites faced in Egypt until God destroyed every pretense, every false Egyptian god.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:5

Like in the film 'The wizard of Oz',  pulling back the curtain we expose the devil's schemes.The devil will sometimes use some truth which he bends to his own purpose. So it is up to us to use the bible to work out what is fact from falsehood  - this may seem a daunting task given how long ago the pyramids were built.

The bible tells us the Nephilim the offspring of 'the sons of God and the daughters of humans' that existed after the Flood (Genesis 6:4). Outside the bible Thoth is a character which intriguingly makes a connection between the Sumerians (from which comes 'The Epic of Gilgamesh') and the Egyptians.[8]. It thus matches my alignment of biblical history in the 777 year division. But Thoth is much more sinister than we are at first led to believe, he is demonic or more likely a man deceived by the demonic- we have the testimony from those who have been saved by Jesus about this[9].

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12

We shall come to see that Moses was brought to the pharaohs of the 18th Dynasty (in the New Kingdom period). He derived his name from the pharaohs' names of the period [13], Thutmoses, meaning 'Born of Thoth'. Moses does not prefix his name with any other Egyptian gods names like Thoth. Thoth was the god of wisdom, writing, hieroglyphs, science, magic, art, judgment, and the dead. He was represented by a man with the head of an ibis.

We should not underestimated the sway that Egypt had on Israel. Some of the first few books of the bible (Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy) emphasise heavily on God drawing Israel out of Egypt and making them distinct and holy.

They are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to me. I have taken them as my own in place of the firstborn, the first male offspring from every Israelite woman. Every firstborn male in Israel, whether human or animal, is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set them apart for myself. And I have taken the Levites in place of all the firstborn sons in Israel.

Numbers 8:16-18

The apostle Paul sees through the lies which the wise used led people away from God, The image of God in man was replaced by idols.No doubt he was thinking of Egypt when he wrote:

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

Romans 1:18-25

Even if one, isn't swayed by the argument of the use of the Vesica Piscis in the construction of the pyramids, there is no doubt that they were built to house the body of the dead in its depths so that they ascend the pyramid shaped mound to the afterlife once they have been proved to have lived a good life. The difference that Christianity has, is that no one merits by themselves ascension to be with the one true God, it is only through Jesus sacrifice on the cross. He is the one who redeems from the pit'.

There is no power in pyramid shaped object as the New Age purports. But we can see some of the basic principles that drove the ancient Egyptians to build what they did. 

God is into re-purposing - for we were once objects of wrath are now made alive in Christ (Ephesians 2:1-5). So perhaps we need to re-purpose the  Great Pyramid likewise and use it as a teaching tool to point us to Christ - even stones can cry out to praise Jesus (Luke 19:40)

Journeying in from the outside is like the journey of life. Simply we are born into this world at the entrance. We sin and so we descend until we reach a cross point - we have a choice to keep sinning and end up in the pit (Sheol) or choose to follow Christ and our path ascends. Those who die in Christ (the Queens Chamber) will also rise in Christ when Jesus comes again and we will then ascend to the King's Chamber as the Bride of Christ.

Believers in Christ have access to God's throne for grace and mercy and are even seated with Christ.

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

THE WAY

Revelation 22:1-2 – Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb  down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

John 1:5 – Light shines in the darkness, the darkness has not overcome it

Hebrews 4:16 - Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Ephesians 4:7-10 -  But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.” (What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?  He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

Colossians 1:21-22 - Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of[ your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation

John 12:24 - Very truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

And more:

Genesis 28:10-17, Isaiah 45:14-15,22    Isaiah 45:8    Psalm 42:7    2 Corinthians 12:2    Malachi 4:2    Isaiah 55:10-11   Amos 5:24....

Picture what you will; a tree, a waterfall, a lighthouse, a ladder/staircase, a rescue. All are pointing the way to Jesus.

The salvation from death to life that Jesus gives, is seen in the Christian journey from the realm of the flesh to the realm of the Spirit and described in Romans 7 and 8. It is vividly depicted in the overlapping spheres of the Vesica Piscis, and the Way in which we are governed by the Spirit.

The human condition is a very deep and complex issue that no human psychologist can fix. That is why we need the Holy Spirit living inside of us. He is known as the 'Advocate'.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

John 14:26

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

Christians have different experiences of the Spirit. Some experience the power of the Spirit ('dunamis' it is the Greek root word from which we get dynamite or dynamic) and so we see miraculous conversions and/or healings. But to focus on the immediate exterior evidence of the Holy Spirit as proof that a person is a Christian is wrong. We must show the same patience with other people as God has with us. For the most part the Holy Spirit works as a silent helper, delving deep into the root causes of sin in our lives. He may even divert the course of your life to redeem your mindset. All this may take a lifetime to correct, but the Spirit knows the right words and pictures to propel you to be the person you are destined to be.

Grace (Gods Riches at Christ's Expense) is a gift that never stops giving, it comes over us wave after wave to deliver the message "there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). It has to do so to deliver us from the 'Levitical' (or even sometimes Roman Catholic) mindset cycle: sin, guilt, forgiveness, sin, guilt, forgiveness, sin, guilt, forgiveness, sin, guilt, forgiveness, etc. When a  stubborn sin is whittled down, the scum of shame and recrimination and shame may linger. At which point we must stand in the finished work of the cross and declare ourselves stainless, wiping away the scum.

Numbers in the Bible

Numbers to have any meaning they must be found in the bible, the word of God. Interestingly in the Pyramid (from which we we use 7 and 11 to approximate pi) we see 7 references the vertical measure, pointing to God, and 11 is horizontal pointing to the darkness and chaos we are rescued from as we transition into a place of blessing.[11]. Properly understood, Numbers play a part in the bible that can develop our understanding of the bible's message, but care needs to be taken not to overstate their role and be led away with Numbers alone being the prime actor. Numbers are there to illustrate the intricate design and beauty of the bible's message of salvation.

The Number 7

It becomes evident that the number 7 in all its combinations is the time distance of choice used in the bible, If we were to look in the bible for number with special meaning we would do no better than looking at the number 7. Seven proper years, for example, are used concerning the seasonal seven years of abundance and seven years of famine which was Joseph’s interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream (Genesis 41v29-30). Similarly, the seven years are seen in the Sabbath Year, also referring to a seasonal pattern of farming giving the land a rest in the 7th year (Leviticus 25) with an obvious connection the 6 days of creation and the 7th day God rested – this day is continually observed as the Sabbath. The Jubilee year was announced after seven sabbath years, that is the 50th year (Leviticus 25).

 

We should also remember that Jesus referred to himself as the Lord of the Sabbath; as God rested after his work of creation, so too, when Jesus said, “It is Finished!” on the cross. Jesus told us to forgive our brother, not 7 times, but 70 times 7 - this has a direct link with the 70 'sevens'  years recorded in Daniel 9 leading to the forgiveness of our debt of sin by Jesus sacrifice on the cross.

The number 7 speaks of completeness and perfection to be found in God and the perfect plan of the New Covenant. The 7 branches of the menorah in the temple illuminates the darkness, a symbol of God’s continued guidance.

Number 17, Overcomers by the Holy Spirit

As the New Covenant is intrinsically connected to the Old Covenant, so we also associate the number 7 (the 7 fruits of the Spirit and the 7 gifts of the Spirit) with the number 10 (the 10 Commandments) . Add 10 & 7 gives the number 17. The two intertwine. By the Law we cannot be be saved, rather through the Law we become conscious of our sins (Romans 3:23), yet it is fulfilled by Jesus (Matthew 5:17) - it is then our faith in Jesus who saves us from our sins and the Holy Spirit helps us to be strong to overcome.

The apostle Paul explains the roles of the Law and the Spirit best. 

 

Romans 7:7 says the purpose of the Law was in part to expose sin.

What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet." Romans 7:7

The Law exerted power until the Seed, Jesus has come, spoken through the Promise  to Abraham. Jesus then came to fulfil the Law. He completed it for us and wiped away all our transgressions.

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. Matthew 5:17

In this new-found freedom we have now, the Holy Spirit guides us and teaches us how to live right.

 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:18

In Jesus we find a meeting between the Law and the Spirit. We read Jesus began flourish with the law from the early age of 12. According to Jewish law, when Jewish boys become 13 years old, they become accountable for their actions (their Bar Mitzvah, which literally translates as ‘the son of the commandment’):

Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. Luke 2:41-42

After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. Luke 2:46-47

And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2:52

Jesus was over 12 between 11 AD - 12 AD as described in the section ‘Placing the birth of Jesus in 2 BC’ on the 'Jesus' page.

The next appearance of Jesus is at his baptism and starts his ministry anointed by the Holy Spirit in 29 BC.

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” Luke 3:21-22

It is these 17 years that Jesus grew in ‘wisdom and stature’ to become a man not under custody of the Law but living it and moving in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The number 17 as we have come to see symbolises the power to overcome by the Holy Spirit,  as we follow Jesus' way.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Ephesians 3:16-17

Here the Greek verb to ‘strengthen’, krataioó, means also to prevail, to overcome. While we await Jesus' return the Holy Spirit has been given to us, to empower us to take a stand and overcome whatever troubles we may face, even in death.

Understanding the promise, properly unlocks a mystery that surrounds what happens when we die. The seed packs the power of eternal life.

 

Jesus made reference to a place called Abraham's breast in reference to a beggar named Lazarus (Luke 16:19–31. Under the promise given to Abraham this is where the souls of those who believed in the promise rested waiting for Christ. When Christ came he had the power to raise the dead to fully physical form, completely healed, as we see in the case of another Lazarus (the brother of Mary and Martha), This is a foretaste of the new incorruptible bodies that we would have when Christ will return again.

With Jesus, death had now power, he could simply release souls from to be transfigured, as we see in the case of Elijah and Moses. They appeared in a state that angels often appeared. He showed that he could  simply release the captives from prison as Paul was saying.

Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So, the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. Galatians 3:23-25

He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Galatians 3:14

When Jesus died and rose again he brought many back to life, very much to like he had done to Lazarus; these were captives resurrected to act as a witness to many. There is here a direct link between the ascension of Christ and the empowering by the Spirit to witness.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it This is why it says:

“When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.”

(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians 4:4-13

The Spirit is a deposit guaranteeing our hope in the promise that we will rise like Christ. The Spirit makes us alive also that might preach the gospel on earth. All three persons of the trinity are involved in this salvation. And as such we have confidence to approach God's throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16, 2 Corinthians 12:2). Peter uses David as a case in point to draw all the pieces together.

Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.  But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. David said about him:

 

'I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’

 

Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,

The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet".'

Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

Acts 2:22-39

The Jews understood all the undertones of the message immediately - they could see how all that Peter spoke drew from what the been taught and pieces all fit perfectly together. 

Jesus alone went in to heaven, though we are joined spiritual to him now and when we die also because way is now open, the prison door is open, the veil has been torn - we are joined spiritual now for God is spirit (John 4:24). When Jesus returns we will rise in incorruptible bodily form (1 Corinthians 15:53) to join Christ in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17) , then we will know as we are known (1 Corinthians 13:12), And God will create and new heaven and new earth. A new Jerusalem descending on earth will be our home with God - heaven come down.

Number 153, True Identity, Restoration

The number 153 is used in the miraculous catch of fish that lead to the reinstatement Peter in John 21, after his previous betrayal of Jesus. Peter had denied Jesus three times, just as Jesus had predicted. His sin caught him up in a cycle of recrimination and shame that led to his brokenness and consequently he went back to his old job of fishing. But here was Jesus offering sweet forgiveness, a sense of purpose and the guaruntee that death had lost its power. This was indeed a watershed moment for the church, for it was on this pattern of the New Covenant working in Peter that the church of would be built; Peter’s revelation of Jesus as the Son of God, his brokenness and restitution, where he was forgiven and put off shame so that he could become a spirit-filled new creation, cemented Peter as the archetype, the base rock, the founding principle of the Church and the outworking of the New Covenant. The New Covenant bring life, as opposed to death and the promise of everlasting life from Jesus who holds the keys to death and Hades.

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Matthew 16:18

It is worth noting also that Tetragrammaton (YHWH) occurs 153 times in the book of Genesis. God set out a way in the beginning by which we would be completed restored to Him through Jesus.

Seventy Sevens, Forgiveness and Redemption

Seventy ‘sevens’ points to a time when Jesus said ‘it is finished’; the extent to which his mercy and grace flows – that is, our debt paid on the cross. The use of multiple sevens and the places in scripture reveal how special it is: in the Seventy Sevens in Daniel 9 and lengths that forgiveness should go. 

 Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Matthew 18:22-23 ESV

Number 777, Complete Restoration through the Trinity

The number seven reveals so much about God and conversely, or even perversely, about man. Man cannot save himself, cannot make himself the pinnacle of perfection. Consider, Satan, who once was an angel before God, how he became corrupted by his pride.

You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.

Isaiah 14:13-15

It is through mercy and grace afforded to us by Jesus death on the cross that we may one day be made whole, that is, when Jesus comes a second time. This is what the number seven means. Conversely, the number 6 represents the best, or rather worst that man can do by themselves. Jesus second coming is closely related to his victory on the cross. Through his death and resurrection, we are saved and being saved until in his coming brings salvation.

So, Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Hebrews 9:28

If the seventy ‘sevens’ (70x7) represents the forgiveness that might be found, 777 represents when times will come to an end accompanied by judgement and salvation - three (Justice) 7s (Completion). We can also imagine that if we, compare the numbers 770 with 777, if the digits were to represent the Godhead of the trinity, 770 speaks of God sending the Word, with the spirit still to make bud and flourish in the 77[0], but budding and flourishing the Church until the 77[7].  The Holy Spirit brings fruit that flourishes from Jesus death. Jesus is the seed that packs the power of regeneration – restore, rebuild and revive.
